EXTRA-CREDIT SELF-TESTS:

 

On six Thursdays, we will post on CourseWorks a short "self-test" on the topics covered that week. Questions will be taken from both the lectures and book.

 

You are not required to do these self-tests. However, the TAs will keep track of how you performed. For each correct answer you will get one credit that will be added to your score for the final grade.

 

The self-tests must be turned in before class starts, at 6:10 pm the following Tuesday. Late self-tests will not be counted. No exceptions! If you are late for class, then your self-test is late, too. Your answers to self-tests must be typed and include full-name and self-test number. In case of emergency and you cannot come to class, then you or someone else must turn in your self-test into Patrick Kennedy's mailbox BEFORE class on Tuesday. The mailboxes are located next to the Psychology Office in 406 Schermerhorn. You MUST EMAIL Patrick BEFORE class to let her know to expect your self-test. Answers will be posted afterwards on the course web site. Highlighted words or phrases indicate the points necessary to get that question correct. Self-tests will be graded and returned to you one week later, on the next Tuesday. You can pick them up from the designated boxes before or after class. Self-test answers will be marked with a plus or a minus sign to indicate whether it passed or failed the grading criteria, respectively.

 

If used effectively, you will find that these self-tests:

 

       help you to keep up with the reading and lectures

       help you to define and reinforce the key points of the reading and lectures

       help you to study for the exams later

       help to improve your grades.

 

Instructions: You can view both questions and answers on-line on CourseWorks. If you wish to print out or edit these files, you should highlight and copy the text and paste into MS Word or other word processor program. Remember to keep a copy of all your self-test answers.
