Officer Borrowing on LibraryWeb.

administrator attesting to your status, and then use it to get a Teaching
Officer ID card from the ID center.

it, along with your originals, in the specially marked box there. (Give exams directly to Winnie.)

4. Desk Copies of Textbooks
Teaching Assistants receive free copies of all required reading materials.
These materials should be available at least a week before the course
begins.
HOW: Publishing houses usually provide desk copies of textbooks;
contact the textbook publisher to find out what the procedure is and then
enlist the assistance of the professor (e.g., if an email from the professor
is required). Teaching assistants should not be asked to pay for any course
materials.
5. CourseWorks Privileges
If your course uses CourseWorks, then you will need to have access to the site.
HOW: Ask the prof. to set up access for you, following the steps outlined below. The prof should have a UNI for each TA before starting this process. The prof should then do the following:
- log in to CourseWorks [under Resources/Instructional Links on the Dept Home Page] using his/her cunix ID and password
- click on the link for his/her course
- it may be necessary to first choose "next semester" from left menu
- once in the site for the course, click on "Settings" in the left menu bar
- on the Setting page, click on the "set members" tab
- enter TA's UNI and select "teaching assistant" status*
- view Student Panal and, next to TA name, check all parts of site that TA should edit
- be sure to SUBMIT your request before leaving the page
- *NOTE: Instructors should not give "instructor" status to TAs, because this will mess up the course evaluations. To give a TA edit access to all sections of the CourseWorks site, simply click all the boxes, including "settings", next to the TA's name in the Student Panel.
6. Access to Podium in Electronic Classroom
Teaching Assistants will learn how to access the electronic
podium in their classroom at their training session; if a key is required they will receive one at that session. (the 614 podium no longer requires a key)
HOW: Complete the electronic training
session during the week prior to the start of classes. To arrange for training, submit the form at http://www.columbia.edu/acis/classrooms/trainingform.html at least two days in advance.
7. Access to 200 b/c
Teaching Assistants may use 200 b/c for review sessions, scanning, and other course-related computer work. All psychology graduate students should have access. Undergraduate and postbac TAs may request access.
HOW: Send email to Winnie McClarin, cc Lois Putnam. Include your CUID number and the name and number of the course for which you are TAing, and tell us if you have read and agree to abide by the Lab Use Guidelines at http://www.columbia.edu/cu/psychology/200bc/guidelines.html
