Undergraduate/Postbac TA Application
For 2009-10

We anticipate quite a few openings in Spring 2010 for undergraduate and Postbac TAs to assist in Psychology lecture courses and in the undergraduate teaching labs (200b/c Schermerhorn). For the most part, positions in lecture courses go to full-time students who have done exceptionally well in that course or, in the case of courses being offered for the first time, in relevant courses. Lab TA positions go to full-time students with relevant computer skills and experience.

The new stipend is $2100 per term ( $11.67/hour for 12 hours per week for 15 weeks). Please keep in mind that Columbia will not employ full-time students for more than 20 hours per week, and does not allow students to hold more than one TAship in any given term.

If you are interested in, and qualified for, either kind of position, please complete the application form below and then click on the Submit button to send it to Lois Putnam and Andrew Johnson. For lecture course TAships, please also contact the professor directly, describing your qualifications and asking if a position might be available for you next spring.

Possible Undergrad TA Positions for 2009-10

Instructions: Please use the pull-down menus to rank all courses for which you would be interested, qualified, and able to TA next year. Assign a rank of 1 to your first choice, 2 to your second, and so on. For instance, "1_2220x" means your top choice is 2220x. You may use the same rank more than once to indicate courses for which you would be equally happy to TA. Do not rank courses for which you do not wish to be considered.
