- The Rae Silver neurobiology laboratory in the Psychology department is searching for a laboratory Research Staff Assistant starting in the Fall semester 2009.
- Reporting to the principle investigator, the Laboratory Assistant (LA) will be responsible for the maintenance of laboratory equipment (cleanliness and scheduling repair and maintenance service). The maintenance of inventory levels for supplies and solutions. Assisting in and carrying out of experiments using immunocytochemistry, gathering data, analyzing data, keeping accurate records of both experimental data and procedures (relative to behavioral experiments, immunocytochemistry, digital imaging, and microscopy).

NYU Research Assistant, 2 year position
- The NYU Child Study Center (CSC), an independent outpatient clinical and research center of the NYU School of Medicine, seeks a highly organized, motivated individual to serve as a full-time assistant research scientist on a large-scale, school-based intervention to improve the physical and mental health of high school students with symptoms consistent with asthma who have not been diagnosed. The study is funded by NIH; position is full-time and begins August/September 2009.
- Responsibilities: (a) recruit high school students with undiagnosed asthma and their parents from participating schools; (b) interview students and parents every two months; (c) conduct an 8-week intervention with students, which include 3 group sessions and 5 one-on-one sessions; (d) conduct educational sessions with parents by phone and in person; (e) assist pulmonologists with a brief intervention for the students’ primary care providers; (f) data entry, management and analysis; and (g) assist study investigators in retention efforts.
- Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Public Health or related field. Experience working with youth required; experience teaching or group facilitation strongly preferred. Teaching could include tutoring; group facilitation may be in health education (e.g., asthma, HIV, diabetes) or psychology (e.g., therapy groups). Research experience preferred. This may include interviewing, data entry, data analysis, use of standardized assessment tools, recruitment of participants/patients, literature searches, and writing of literature reviews. Experience working with children or adolescents, and parents strongly preferred. Bilingual [Spanish-English] required. Minimum two-year commitment preferred. Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Flexibility and willingness to work evenings and weekends are necessary as are strong computer skills.

Research Assistant/Lab Manager
- The Cognitive Neuropsychology Lab in Georgetown University’s Center for Aphasia Research and Rehabilitation, directed by Rhonda Friedman, Ph.D., is seeking a full-time research assistant. Our research examines language and learning/memory function and dysfunction in patients with stroke, head injury, and dementia. Projects include behavioral, fMRI, eye tracking, and ERP studies of patients and normal controls, and development of cognitive treatments for acquired language disorders.

Research Coordinator Positions (Full-Time) / The Center for Anxiety and Traumatic Stress Disorders at Massachusetts General Hospital is looking for 2 new research coordinators
