General Area of Research

Cellular and molecular basis of circadian rhythm generation, photic entrainment and the output controls

Current Research

In the decades since the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) was first discovered as the brain clock, its cellular elements, and its connections have been the subject of intense investigation at the behavioral, physiological and molecular levels. My research has been focusing on how the SCN networks are organized at the cellular level and then act on the brain targets to synchronize the circadian system so that bodily responses occur in their correct temporal niche.
