Research Interests: Circadian rhythms; Molecular regulation of circadian timing
I am interested in rhythms in biology at all scales. Currently, I am investigating the neural circuitry underlying circadian rhythms, and how coherent rhythmic output is produced by a tissue composed of many individual autonomously oscillating neurons. The research examines both the neurological mechanisms that generate rhythms in the body and also the way in which the brain senses and interprets environmental signals. Throughout my studies, I try to understand physiology in the context of the whole animal and its adaptation to its environment.
