General Area of Research

The effects of role and regulatory focus on negotiation processes and outcomes; differences between individual and group decision making processes and outcomes.

Current Research

My research interests are decision making and negotiation. As a member of the Higgins lab, I am looking at the effects of regulatory focus and regulatory fit on various aspects of negotiation, including zone of positive agreement and likelihood of impasse. As a member of the Center for Research on Environmental Decisions, in a joint project with Kerry Milch, she and I are comparing individual and group decision making processes and outcomes, with an emphasis on framing effects.
