General Area of Research
The effects of social cognitive factors on health behaviors, specifically sexual behavior
Current Research
I am interested in studying the role of social cognition in people's regulation of their own health behaviors. I am especially interested in the role of self-regulation in human sexual behavior: how do other people influence one's own determination of what they will and will not do sexually? Currently I am exploring the role of self-efficacy as a mediator variable between sexual imagery in mass media and risky sexual behavior in young adults
