General Area of Research
Current Research
My main line of research investigates the neural mechanisms that underlie the experience of desire or craving for appetitive stimuli ("rewards"), with specific attention to mechanisms associated with craving for different types of reward. My intention is to further ask how and what cognitive and neural mechanisms can be used to regulate craving in both normal and drug-abusing populations. More broadly, I am interested in clinically-applicable emotion regulation, behavioral and neural plasticity associated with meditation practice, and The Work.
