9/15-- We will try to post powerpoints one day before lecture so that you may bring printouts to class. This week's powerpoints are posted. Click on "PowerPoint" to your left for more.

9/5-- All students who sent an email with their discussion section preferences have been placed in a section. Most students got their first choice. You will be emailed by your section leader by early next week with your assignment. Plan to attend section the week of 9/8.

This is an important message from Professor Terrace regarding Science of Psychology, W1001. ALL STUDENTS MUST RESPOND TO THIS MESSAGE.


1. Class Location: Beginning this Thursday, all lectures will take place in 501 Schermerhorn (NOT 614). All discussion sections will be in 558 Schermerhorn.

2. Textbook: About 80 copies of the textbook should be available at the Columbia bookstore by tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon. If those copies sell out, more will become available by Monday afternoon.

3. Discussion Sections:

  • There will be no discussion sections this week.

  • Please note that ALL students are required to sign up for a discussion section. Failure to attend the weekly discussion sections will result in a reduction of your grade.

  • A 7th discussion section has been scheduled for Thursday, 4:10 –5 in 558 Schermerhorn.

  •

You will indicate your top 3 choices of times to attend a discussion section. Any previous registration (through the registrar) will not be taken into account. Placement is on a first come, first serve basis.


In the SUBJECT line, you will indicate your TOP choice, and in the body, you will indicate the top 3 (repeating the top one), plus your personal info. Here are the times sections will be offered. Paste the appropriate line/s into the subject/body of your email. The section with the lowest enrollment will be dropped, so be sure to indicate alternatives. At the end of this process, we plan to have 6 sections.
