Morningside Campus Gates: Hours of Operation

ANNOUNCEMENT: In response to student feedback, effective May 6, 2013, the Earl Hall Gate (117th Street and Broadway) and the
Chapel Gate (117th Street and Amsterdam Avenue) will remain open until 10:00 p.m. on weekdays.
Both of these gates will continue to open at 7:00 a.m. each weekday and continue to be closed on weekends. A full listing of
Morningside Campus gate hours of operation can be found here.
We hope this change provides more convenient access to and from upper campus during the later evening hours.

The normal operational hours of gates at the Morningside Campus fall into three categories:
The gate schedules provided below are the normal operating hours. Exigent circumstances and inclement
weather may result in closures during operational hours.
Gates that are open 24 hours, seven days a week
- College Walk - Center Gates
- Lerner Pedestrian Gate - 115th Street and Broadway
- Carman Gate
- John Jay Gate
- NWC Building - 120 Street Exterior Staircase
- Wien Courtyard Pedestrian Gate
Gates that have scheduled opening and closing times and days
- College Walk - North and South Pedestrian Gates: Opened Weekdays from 7 AM until 11 PM and closed on weekends
- Chapel Gate: Opened Weekdays from 7 AM until 6:30 PM and closed on weekends. Effective May 6th 2013, New Chapel Gate closing hours. Gate will remain open until 10pm weekdays.
- Grove Entrance at 119th Street and Amsterdam Avenue: Opened Weekdays from 6 AM until 11:45 PM, opened Saturdays from 7 AM until 6 PM, and closed on Sundays
- CEPSR 120 Street Gate: Opened Weekdays from 7 AM until 6:30 PM and closed on weekends
- Earl Hall Gate: Opened Weekdays from 7 AM until 6:45 PM and closed on weekends. Effective May 6th 2013, New Earl Gate closing hours. Gate will remain open until 10pm weekdays.
Gates that are only opened upon approved requests
- Taint Gate - 115th Street and Amsterdam Avenue
- Faculty House Gate at 117th Street and Morningside Drive
- Lerner Hall Drive-through gates - 115th Street and Broadway
- Wien Courtyard Drive-through gates
- Grove Entrance at 119th Street and Broadway
