FROM THE SENATE Senate Elects Exec. Committee he University Senate opened the 1997-98 academic year with a brief organizational meeting last Friday in 501 Schermerhorn.
Following a morning of caucus meetings, President George Rupp asked for and received a motion to elect the nominees to the Senate's executive committee. The new members are listed below with their constituencies: Tenured faculty: Chairman Paul Duby, Engineering; Joan Ferrante, General Studies; Eben Moglen, Law; Luciano Rebay, GSAS/Hum.; Letty Moss-Salentijn, Dental and Oral Surgery, and Debra Wolgemuth, Health Sciences. Non-tenured faculty: Richard Locke, Arts, and Wayne Svoboda, Journalism. Students: Brett Busby, law student; Leora Hanser, BC'99, and Josh Ratner, CC'98. Ex officio: President George Rupp and Provost Jonathan R. Cole.
