he 50th anniversary of one of the greatest upsets in the history of college football will be the highlight of this year's Homecoming Day festivities at Baker Field this Sat., Oct. 25.
Columbia players from the Lions' historic 21-20 upset of Army at Baker Field on Oct. 25, 1947, will be honored at halftime of this year's Homecoming football game with Yale.
The Army Cadets had entered the game unbeaten in their last 32 starts, while Lou Little's Lions were 2-2. The contest was played before a highly partisan sellout crowd of 35,000.

The reunion will be the highlight of a day filled with other activities designed to draw alumni and students to Baker Field: a pre-game alumni brunch (11:00 A.M.) under the tent ("The Lions' Den") for alumni (and their families) of Columbia College and the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, the dedication of the Aldo T. "Buff" Donelli (Columbia football coach from 1957 to 1967) Football Locker Room in Chrystie Field House (12:15 P.M.), the men's soccer game with Yale in the Soccer Stadium (2:30 P.M.), the women's soccer game with Yale in the Soccer Stadium (11:00 A.M.), and, of course, the varsity football game with Yale in Wien Stadium (1:00 P.M.)
In another ceremony at halftime following the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the win over Army, all Columbia student-athletes who received selected awards for their winter and spring sports will be honored. Many are All-Ivy selections.
Following the varsity football game, alumni and their families will attend a post-game reception in "The Lions' Den." Tickets for the football game are still available and may be obtained at the ticket office in Dodge Physical Fitness Center.
