Don't Forget to Fill Out Your CCS Card

Columbia Community Service Seeks Your Support

In a recent letter to the Columbia community, Columbia Community Service co-chairs Donald Hood, professor of psychology, and Colleen Crooker, vice president for human resources, urged all Columbians to help give support to our most vulnerable neighbors. Last year Columbia employees raised more than $220,000.

"We very much hope that you will give again this year," they wrote. "Your Pledge can be fulfilled immediately with a personal check or throughout the academic year through a salary deduction."

They said that donors may contribute through CCS, which supports agencies within a 30-block radius of the University, or through United Way. "Should you choose to, you may select the service areas you wish your donation to support."

Hood and Crooker also noted that the University underwrites all of CCS' administrative costs. so each gift goes entirely to participating agencies.
