ournalism alumni and faculty filled their newly renovated building lobby Nov. 20 to dedicate it as the Dean Joan Konner Alumni/ae Hall. New lighting, glass wall panels and six computer touch screens on curving polished wood dividers have transformed the space. On the screens, visitors can summon the names of all of the school's alumni and donors, learn about its various prizes and history and scan the latest stories from the Associated Press. Konner, above, who stepped down as dean in June and continues as professor and publisher of the Columbia Journalism Review, said the alumni, many of them leaders of the profession, "are the proudest achievement of the school."
