More Donations Sought for Community Impact's 7th Annual Auction on April 9

Save this date: On Thurs., Apr. 9, Community Impact will sponsor its seventh annual Benefit Auction, beginning at 6:30 P.M. in Low Rotunda. The auction will be hosted by David Stern, Law‘66, Commissioner of the National Basketball Association and vice-chair of the Columbia Trustees.

The event will benefit Community Impact, Columbia’s largest public service organization, through which over 850 student volunteers annually serve 14,000 homeless and low-income children, adults and families in Harlem and Morningside Heights.

Among the items to be auctioned are: a photograph by Kenneth Heyman, world-renowned photographer for Margaret Mead; travel excursions; tickets to Rangers, Mets and Yankees games; nights at the opera; autographed books by prominent Columbia faculty; hand-made ancient pottery, and a signed letter from former Columbia and United States President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Columbians are invited to join their fellow faculty, administrators, trustees, alumni/ae and others who have helped to make this event a huge success in the past.

Tickets are $35 each and are available through Community Impact until Apr. 9.

Those who would like to make a tax-deductible donation of a treasured item, collectible or service may contact Sonia Reese, executive director, at 854-2617. Parking is available on campus the evening of the event.
