Commencement 1998 Five Faculty Members to Receive Annual Great Teaching Awards
The faculty to be honored include: Ian D. Bent, Anne Parsons Bender Professor in Music; Elizabeth Blackmar, professor of history; Robert A. Ferguson, George Edward Woodberry Professor in Literature and Criticism and professor of law; Glenda Garvey, professor of clinical medicine, and Alan Ziegler, professor of professional practice in writing. The award-winning student teachers include: Paul Christesen, department of classics; Michael Larkin, department of physics, and Adam Rothman, department of history. Each faculty member receives $5,000; each student $2,500.
