hilippa Feldman, BC86, is the first woman voted to receive the Alumni Athletic Award from Columbia.
It is another in a string of firsts: Four years ago, she was the first woman elected president of the Varsity C Club, a 64-year-old alumni organization of Columbia and Barnard varsity letter winners. And back in 1983, she joined the first Columbia womens tennis team operating the Columbia/Barnard consortium.
On the tennis team, she was MVP and co-captain for three years. She was also the no. 1 singles player on the squad for two seasons and won the Seven Sisters Championships.
Her brother Lee, a 1989 graduate of Columbia, was part of the Lions 1987 Eastern Tennis Association championship team.
For several years, Feldman has been chair of the womens tennis alumnae advisory committee and has been instrumental in organizing homecoming events and social gatherings.
A native New Yorker, Feldman still lives in Manhattan. She received her M.B.A. from Columbia Business School in 1990 and is now a vice president in the global aviation department for CitiBank.
