Rome Prize Awarded
Associate Professor of Music David Rakowski has been awarded the Rome Prize by the American Academy in Rome for the 1995-96 academic year. The award provides funding for American scholars and artists to live and work at the Academy. Rakowski, one of two composers selected, has taught at Columbia since 1989. He teaches musical composition, music theory and music humanities courses.
