Seven Columbians Win Fulbright Awards
Seven Columbians are among those who have received Fulbright Awards for 1995-96, according to a recent announcement from the J. William Fulbright Scholarship Board and the United States Information Agency.
The awards will enable recipients to lecture, consult or conduct research abroad.
The award winners, their disciplines, and the countries they plan to do research in:
- Beth L. Bailey, assistant professor of history and American studies, Barnard, American history, Indonesia;
- David Farber, assistant professor of history, Barnard, American history, Indonesia;
- Lisa M. McGirr, instructor in women's studies, American history, Germany;
- Laima Sruoginis, program coordinator in the Center for the Study of American Architecture, Creative Writing, Lithuania;
- Joseph C. Grannis, professor of curriculum and teaching, Teachers College, Education, Namibia;
- Colin W. McCord, associate professor of clinical surgery and associate director of surgery, Harlem Hospital center, Medical Sciences, Bangladesh, and
- Carol B. Moskowitz, nurse practitioner and researcher, Center of Movement Disorders, Medical Sciences, Albania.
