Child Fair for West Side
Columbia University is sponsoring a Child Care Fair
on Thursday, September 12, from 5:00 P.M. - 8 P.M. in the rotunda of
Low Memorial Library. The fair is an opportunity for parents and prospective
parents to meet with representitives from 36 early childhood education centers.
The centers have varying educational philosophies, practices and enrollment procedures. Parents
can find the center best suited for their child's needs. All
of the education centers represented are located on the West Side of Manhattan between 96th and 168th Streets.
"Getting into a good childhood center can be almost as worrisome as
getting into a good university," said Larry Dais, Columbia's assistant vice
president for Columbia's Office of Public Affairs. "Columbia is pleased to help address this
issue by providing a forum for parents and educators to come together for
the benefit of both."
The general public, as well as Columbia students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in the fair,
which is sponsored by Columbia's Office of Public Affairs. For more information call 854-4469.
