 rli Shaham managed to juggle two careers while on Morningside Heights, that of concert pianist as well as student.
"What makes this place so great has to do in part with Columbia and in part with New York City; the two have given me an education that I couldn't have found at any other school. Despite what you sometimes hear about Columbia's fixed, rigid curriculum, I found the opposite true: Looking back over my years here--I did the Columbia/-Juilliard program-- it's thanks to the incredible flexibility of Columbia that I was able to be a full-time student and a performer giving 50-60 concerts a year."
