Dreyfus Granddaughter Attends Conference

major international conference was held on the Columbia campus Feb. 13-15 to commemorate the centennial of Emile Zolas celebrated 1898 Jaccuse open letter to the French president denouncing the wrongful conviction of Alfred Dreyfus. Dreyfus granddaughter, Simone Perl, above, was a guest of honor at the conference organized by Professor Henri Mitterand of the department of French and romance philology, who is a leading authority on the works of Zola. Perl is shown with a photograph of her grandfather from an exhibit on the Dreyfus Affair, which will remain open in the Maison Francaise through Fri., Feb. 20.
