History Symposium
ive of the countrys leading American historians will gather at Columbia on Fri., Mar. 27, to discuss the state of American history. The symposium will mark the 50th anniversary of Columbias Bancroft Prize, the most prestigious book award in American history. The participants will be John Putnam Demos, Eric Foner, David Levering Lewis, Laurel Thatcher Ulrich and Donald Worster. All are former Bancroft winners. The discussion will be moderated by Alan Brinkley, Allan Nevins Professor of History.
The event is scheduled for 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. in the East Room of Faculty House. A question-and-answer period will follow.
