International Dignitaries Visit SIPA

Two international leaders visited the School of International and Public Affairs recently. On Sept. 20, Vaira Vike-Freiberga, president of the Republic of Latvia, spoke on, "The Baltics: Latvia in the New Milleniu." Her lecture was sponsored by the East Central European Center and the Harriman Institute. Surin Pitsuwan, foreign minister of Thailand, arrived later in the week, on Sept. 23, and spoke in honor of the East Asian Institute's 50th anniversary. His speech was titled "Sea Change in South East Asia."
