Scholars from all countries may apply to the Institute.
They are selected by the Provost and Dean of Faculties of Columbia
University on the advice of a selection committee composed of
individuals from the University and the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme.
In making its recommendations, the committee seeks a mix of scholars
from all parts of the world. It also attempts to include some members
of Columbia University's faculty among the Fellows.
