Introduction to the New Testament
RELI S3120z

Credits:3 pts.
Though its religious, historical, and cultural significance is widely known, the New Testament is far more diverse (and interesting) than many people know. It is not just one book, but rather a collection of 27 different texts. While these share some basic features, above all a belief in the theological significance of the first century Jew, Jesus, for salvation, they also reflect the specific concerns of the different authors. Emphasis on the unity and diversity of the New Testament texts, seeing them both as individual works and as part of a unitary canon, and on the early history of the Christianity within the rich Jewish and Greco-Roman worlds of antiquity.
