Biography
Courtney Bender, Associate Professor, (B.A., Swarthmore College, 1991; Ph.D. (Sociology), Princeton University, 1997) specializes in contemporary American religion and the social scientific study of religion. Current research includes analysis of spirituality and alternative health organizations and networks, and interfaith dialogue between Buddhist and Catholic nuns. She is author of Heaven’s Kitchen: Practicing Religion at God’s Love We Deliver, University of Chicago Press (2003).
