Biography
Robert Somerville received his Ph.D at Yale University. His primary research interests include the history of Christianity through the 16th century Reformation, the Medieval Latin Church, the Papacy in the High Middle Ages and Medieval Latin Manuscripts. His graduate courses deal with the papacy, papal institutions, canon law in the Middle Ages and study of medieval Latin manuscripts. His publications include: "Pope Alexander III and the Council of Tours"; "Scotia Pontifica: Papal Letters to Scotland before the Pontificate of Innocent III" ; "Pope Urban II, the Collectio Britannica, and the Council of Melfi (1089)".
