Biography
Heather C. Ohaneson (B.A.
magna cum laude,
Barnard College, 2003; M.A., February 2008) is in her second year in the Ph.D. program in the philosophy of religion at Columbia. She earned a double major at Barnard College in philosophy and religion, writing her undergraduate thesis on Aristotelian and Biblical perspectives of friendship. Her areas of interest include the philosophy of Plato and Kierkegaard, the ethics of special relations, as well as philosophical and religious understandings of work. She has a background in Latin, ancient Greek (Attic and Koine), and Modern Hebrew. She is currently studying French and Armenian. This semester, she is working as a Teaching Fellow in Alan Segal’s course, Judaism in the Time of Jesus. Last semester she was a T.F. for Wayne Proudfoot’s course, Religion and Its Critics.
