Roy Tzohar

Biography
Roy Tzohar is a PhD candidate in the Buddhist Studies Program, majoring in Indo-Tibetan Buddhism. Education includes Tel-Aviv University’s Adi Lautman Interdisciplinary Program for Fostering Excellence, and an MA (Summa Cum Laude) from the Philosophy Department, Tel-Aviv University.

His areas of general interest are comparative philosophy, Indo-Tibetan philosophy of language, Indian theories of meaning and aesthetics. Working languages are Sanskrit and Tibetan. Support for dissertation research in India (2007-2008) was gratefully received from AIIS (American Institute of Indian Studies). Roy is a co-founder of the Columbia Society for Comparative Philosophy (http://www.cbs.columbia.edu/cscp).
