California Dreamin' (2007) directed by Cristian Nemescu

A railway chief from a Romanian village delays a NATO train transporting military equipment during the war in Kosovo in 1999. A delicious mixture of comedy and drama born from the lively interaction between Romanians and Americans. Powerful beyond words.

California Dreamin' will be introduced by Ms. Corina Suteu, Director, Romanian Cultural Institute, NY. The movie was awarded Un Certain Regard prize at the Cannes Film Festival

A Very Small Trilogy of Loneliness (2005) directed by Bogdan Apetri

A family, one moment, three views.

Three short vignettes looking upon the same moment in time, each seen from a radically different perspective than the others. Using an unexpected visual approach and brilliant sound design - but no dialogue - the film reaches its devastating conclusion simply by letting us see a piece of the world through the eyes of each character, for the same brief amount of time.

Bogdan, an alumni of the Romanian Club and graduate of the School of Arts, Film Division will present his short. The movie was part of many film festivals and was nominated for the 2006 Student Academy Awards.
