Guest Speakers Helen Reisler, Past President of the Rotary Club of New York, and Bill Currie, Past President of the Rotary Club of New York. Helen Reisler was the first woman president of the Rotary Club of New York, and also served during September 11th. She told us many stories of how she first got involved with Rotary Club, from her climb of Environmental Director and sponsoring a Earth Day campaign to give out pins to little children. She also emphasized how Rotarians from around the world are all connected together and help each other in every way. During 9/11, she was able to raise about $1.2 million from donations alone from Rotary Clubs all around the world. And all the money they collected was distributed by personally, to insure they knew every single person who received the money.
