In COROP you will be canoeing down the Delaware River on the New York/ Pennsylvania/ New Jersey border for four days, alongside 7-8 other freshmen and 2-3 leaders. You will camp on islands and various other natural campsites, as well as encountering many sights and sounds the river has to offer. Each day involves paddling or floating roughly 9-14 miles followed by a meal and a fire at night. The only requirement is an ability to swim (doggy paddle suffices!), as no camping or canoeing experience is necessary. For more information about the river you can visit the Delaware Water Gap website.
ROP is a relaxing way to spend some time in the outdoors, comprised of four days of canoeing, swimming, camping and lounging on the beautiful Upper Delaware River. Groups of nine or ten first-years and two to three upper-classmen leaders paddle an especially scenic thirty-five mile section of the river that takes the groups though serene stretches of water punctuated by class I and II rapids. As we camp in wilderness sites, all of the food and gear you need will be carried in your canoe. The time of year ROP occurs is one of the better seasons for this stretch of the river, so be prepared to be amazed! With lasting friendships and experiences awaiting you, bring your swimsuits, your pirate flags, and a smile, for the Delaware River doesn't hold back!
