 News Update :

Columbia's Formula SAE team competed as car 91 in the FSAE competition at Michigan International Speedway two weeks ago. We placed 64th out of 120 registered teams due to a small technical setback. However, the competition was a success, since it conclusively proved that we can compete with some of the most experienced and well-funded teams.

We are now eagerly looking ahead to the 2010 competition and seeking to continue the precedent of simple, efficient, and functional design set by the teams of the past two years.

  About the Formula SAE Competition:

The 2010 competition will be held May 12-15 at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan. It is sponsored by Society of Automotive Engineers - an international engineering society established to share information and exchange ideas for the advancement of mobility systems.
The objective of the Formula SAE (FSAE) competition is to conceive, design, fabricate, and compete with small formula style racing cars. The restrictions on the car frame and engine are limited so that the knowledge, creativity, and imagination of the students are challenged. The end result is a great experience for young engineers in a meaningful engineering project as well as the opportunity to work in a dedicated team effort.
