HotSeat Chassis

HotSeat Chassis creates full-fledged flying and racing simulators complete with surround sound systems and force-feedback steering wheels and pedals. The simulators ensure that pilots and drivers alike are provided with the hands-on experience that would otherwise be impossible to attain, thrusting them into the necessary real-life situations that are as good as the real thing. HotSeat Chassis donated a racing simulator for use in our workshop

With more than 25 years of racing and technical experience, They’re building innovative products manufactured from three trademarked specialty foams offering greater force reduction capabilities for a variety of impact situations. And, we’re continuing to develop new products utilizing impact and force data collected during ongoing research and development at Createc. BSS donated the Creafoam kit used to fabricate our seat.

Carbotech performance brakes feature a unique brake pad technology that is now being used by pro racers, club racers, tuners, and law enforcement agencies across the country. We receive custom brake pads from Carbotech.

Fleischer Tube Distributors was established in 1973 as an alternative source of materials to large metal service centers that were unwilling or unable to assist the end user with small quantities or unusual requests. This accommodating attitude has helped spawn the largest variety of raw materials in the New York Tri-State area. Fleischer Tube provided the team with discounted steel for the 2010 New York International Auto Show.

Parametric Technology Corp.

The Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC) creates industry-leading products to bring the best in product development software. Their integrated solutions have enabled PTC to help customers optimize their product development processes and realize greater business value. PTC donates copies of their Pro/Engineer CAD software, which we use heavily in design and analysis for our vehicle components.

Timken provides the wheel bearings for the car.

Carleton Strength of Materials Laboratory

The Robert A. W. Carleton Strength of Materials Laboratory is a large facility equipped for research into all types of engineering materials and structural elements. The laboratory also houses experimental facilities to conduct vibration research. Its Water Resource Laboratory is equipped for experimental studies of fluid and sediment transport. Carleton Laboratory allows the team to use one of its Universal Testing Machines to perform strength analyses.

Columbia University Facilities

Columbia University Facilities is dedicated to supporting the core educational and research missions of the University by maintaining a safe, beautiful, and functional campus environment. Welder Luis Rodriguez assists us with advanced welding tasks.

Activities Board of Columbia

The Activities Board at Columbia (ABC) is the governing board that oversees Columbia FSAE as an undergraduate student group on campus. There are currently 155 organizations recognized by ABC, including cultural clubs, performance groups, publications, and special events.

Columbia University Department of Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is the backbone of Knickerbocker Motorsports. Located on the second floor of Mudd, the Mechanical Engineering department has a state-of-the-art machine shop, CAD computer lab, and the friendlist staff on all of campus!
