Our Allies

Note: This list is not exhaustive; it is mostly groups we have worked with directly. Email addresses have been typed "phonetically" to prevent harvesting by spammers.

Student Networks

United Students Against Sweatshops coordinates student support in labor struggles, including our apparel living wage campaign. SEEJ is one of its almost 200 affiliate groups.

Student Environmental Action Coalition is a nationwide network sharing many of SEEJ's goals, which we will probably join when we are less broke.

SEEJ has also worked with the new "Climate Campaign" and Students Transforming and Resisting Corporations

Campus Groups

We support the Concerned Students of Color in their efforts to uproot racism and build community on our campus.

Reforming Sexual Assault Policy is helping SEEJ develop the "Barnard Principles," which are model sexual misconduct policies we hope to encourage among Barnard's (and then Columbia's) investments.

Students Promoting Empowerment and Knowledge has been instrumental in establishing ethnic studies and a student voice in our curriculum.

SEEJ is a member of Columbia Student Solidarity Network, a network of progressive and left-wing groups at Columbia.

Green Campus Initiative and the Earth Coalition work with us through the "Green Umbrella."

The Student Coalition on Expansion and Gentrification, Action for Immigrant Rights, Amnesty International, Jews for Social Justice, Take Back the Night, Productive Outreach for Women, and the Graduate Student Employees United all kick ass.

National or Regional Groups

Rainforest Action Network helped us tremendously in our campaign against CitiGroup.

Other groups include Jobs With Justice, United for a Fair Economy, The Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility, The National Organization for Women, and West Harlem Environmental Action.
