The eighty University Seminars at Columbia University offer sustained intellectual interaction across departmental boundaries. Professors and other experts from Columbia and elsewhere may join Seminars if invited as speakers, guests, and members.
Simply go to the Current Seminars menu option on the left-hand side of this page to find the Seminar you are interested in. Each Seminar's page includes the names and e-mail addresses of the Seminar's chair and rapporteur. They can provide further information or decide whether an invitation is appropriate. For general questions, please contact the University Seminars office at (212) 854-2389.
Our seminars most often meet at Faculty House as well as a variety of venues. Columbia University encourages persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities. Participants with disabilities who anticipate needing accommodations or who have questions about physical access may contact the Office of Disability Services at 212-854-2388 or disability@columbia.edu. Disability accommodations, including sign-language interpreters, are available on request.
The University Seminars office has moved back to Faculty House. Our office is on the second floor, between the elevators. We have the same telephone number and e-mail. Please note, our mailing address has changed to:
