Northeast Biomaterials Day Conference

WELCOME | REGISTER | SCHEDULE | ABSTRACTS

The Northeast Biomaterials Day will be held in conjunction with the 2010 Northeast Bioengineering Conference scheduled for March 26 - 28, 2010. A reduced fee registration option is available for students who would like to attend only the Biomaterials Day portion of the conference.

Please visit the Northeast Bioengineering Conference website to submit an abstract. Please check the box indicating your abstract is related to the Biomaterials Day if you would like to ensure your submission is included in the event.

Below are brief descriptions of the Biomaterials Day related sessions.

Scientific Sessions:

Nano-Biomaterials - Biomaterials developed at the nanoscale, encompassing functionalized, self-assembling, biomimetic, and other nanomaterials, as well as patterning and nano-scale devices.

Smart Biomaterials - Development and/or characterization of materials that interact with the host biological environment, including drug eluting materials and biopolymers.

Cell-Biomaterial Interactions - Research focused on understanding and/or modulating the cellular response to synthetic or biological materials.

Tissue Engineering - The use of synthetic or natural materials in conjunction with biological factors to mimic or replace biological functions, including the formation of complex tissues and the integration of distinct tissue.

Biomaterial/Scaffold Characterization - The use of novel modalities for the purpose of visualizing and/or characterizing biologically-related materials in vitro as well as in vivo.
