What is Sister?
Sister is a free magazine released each spring and
distributed throughout the Columbia community. We publish non-fiction and
fiction by women or about experiences affecting them. We also print
drawings, photographs, cartoons, and other art.
Who is Sister?
Sister is managed by the editor-in-chief and
the business manager with the help of members.
Contributors must be Columbia University students, staff, or alumnae.
If you have questions or would like to contribute (we don't submit),
or if you are interested in co-sponsoring Sister's
publication (if you are at Columbia) or in placing an advertisment,

A pro-choice page dedicated to victims of anti-abortion violence, this
site has practical information about abortion, statistics on clinic
violence, news and action alerts, and a reference library.
- American Association of
University Women
AAUW fights for equity and education for girls and women. Their
site discusses issues, research, fellowships and awards, and how to get
involved.
- Cybergrrl
A must-see for all "female types"! Cybergrrl is a webstation with
link categories that include Hilites (with articles and movie reviews),
Modules (business, family, health), Women ('nuff said), and Surf.
- Feminist Activist
Resources on the Net
This page has a more activist bent than the next link and offers
resources for political activists as well as feminists, a feminist
activist calendar, and suggestions for action.
- The Feminist Majority
Online
The site for The Feminist Majority Foundation offers a ton of
information, such as a database of hotlines, a calendar of events,
international news, and book lists. If you click on the research box
you'll find excerpts from The Feminist Chronicles, an
overview of the history of feminism from 1953-1993.
- Feminist
Resources on the World Wide Web
This page has a huge number of links to pages on education, feminist
organizations, sexuality issues, health issues, pop culture, women and the
Internet, self-defense, and news. It may take a while to sift through but
it's worth it.
- Women Leaders Online
This organization is "dedicated to stopping the Radical Right agenda"
and its web site offers the chance to sign petitions, learn some herstory,
and find out more about anti-feminists.
- Women's
Studies Resources
This is a database containing conference announcements, calls for
papers, employment opportunities, a picture gallery, film reviews, a
reading room, and a reference room, plus lots of other stuff.
