Columbia University Figure Skating Club (CUFSC) is a group of students
who are interested in figure skating. We vary greatly in our level of expertise;
many of our members have been skating for most
of their lives, while others are learning how to skate. Anyone
who is interested in skating with us, helping us out with events, or
even just attending events is welcome to join our club.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() CUFSC was founded both to promote
skating at Columbia so that skaters who come to Columbia will be encouraged
to continue skating and also to introduce other students to the rewards
of figure skating. The club aims to provide experiences for both
beginning and advanced skaters through educational and competitive programs. The
club will create opportunities that would otherwise not exist on campus
for members of the Columbia family. This year our goals include
subsidizing the cost of ice sessions at Chelsea Piers, attending
sessions at Chelsea Piers together, working with the Figure Skating in Harlem program,
obtaining US Figure Skating memberships for all members, distributing CUFSC clothing
to all our members, nurturing prospective judges, and attending competitions
and other events together.
