Rodrigo Díaz McVeigh
Rodrigo Díaz McVeigh received his Bachelor of Science in Communications from the University of Miami with majors in Motion Pictures and Latin American Studies. He also studied at La Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. While in Cuba, he directed his first feature film, Havana Surf, a documentary about Cuban surfers and the difficulties they face. "Havana Surf" was chosen to participate in film festivals around the world and won a Merit Award at the Sydney Latin American Film Festival, as well as an Indie Award at the Indie Film Fest. Recently, he was the Video Coordinator of TeatroStageFest, The Latino International Theatre Festival of New York Inc. His interests include contemporary Latin American cultural production with a focus on post-revolutionary Cuba and the New Latin American Cinema.
