LiebermanProfessor Jane Waldfogel Analyzes the Divide Between Rich and Poor

At the Republican presidential debates, the recent Occupy Wall Street protests and kitchen tables across the nation, Americans are debating the impact of government, taxes and programs on the rich and the poor. For two questions in particular—exactly who are the poor and how much does policy have an impact on them?—Jane Waldfogel made a career searching for answers. Read more.

Support the Annual Fund

You may have recently received a letter from Sheila B. Kamerman '73PhD which celebrates the remarkable impact CUSSW has on the field of social work. In fact, many alumni have helped make it possible by giving to the CUSSW Annual Fund last year—thank you! A CUSSW education shapes the work our alumni do, which in turn shapes legislation and practice as well as families and communities around the world. Today’s students can’t yet see what they will go on to accomplish, but there is no doubt that they will make their mark upon our world. A gift to the CUSSW Annual Fund is a gift to those families and communities our students will go on to help while decreasing enormous student loans, enabling our graduates to serve where they are most needed. If you have not yet responded, make a gift today!

If you meet the age requirement, you can satisfy the annual IRA-required minimum distribution through making a new donation, paying an existing pledge, or creating an enduring endowment at CUSSW.
