Appointed Committees
Appointed Committees are formed at the initiative of the President
or the Board and may be discontinued if the mission is accomplished,
functions are no longer considered necessary, or leadership is not
available.
Alumni-Student Relations Committee
The committee co-sponsors the Distinguished Visiting Scholars Program, holds an Annual Wine and Cheese Networking event and recruits alumni early on to participate in the Annual Alumni Conference.

Doctoral Graduates Committee
The Doctoral Graduates Committee, a subcommittee of the Alumni Association, was established to find ways to develop closer professional connections between doctoral alumni and the School; to connect doctoral alumni with each other in the pursuit of common professional interests; to be conversant and to assist with the roles and functions of the School in promoting the goals and objectives of the profession; to enhance the interest and opportunities for doctoral graduates to stay meaningfully connected with the School.

Hall of Fame Committee
Honors distinguished alumni/ae who have made outstanding contributions to the theory and practice of social work and who, by their work and example, have added significantly to the image of the social work profession.

Louard Scholarship Committee
Subcommittee of the Development Committee. Raises funds for the V. Benjamin and Agnes Louard Scholarship, which provides partial tuition grants for master's degree students of African-American background. Established in memory of V. Benjamin Louard, a member of the Class of '54 and former president of the Alumni Association, and in honor of retired faculty member Agnes Louard '48. |
President's Advisory Committee
This committee is composed of Past Presidents, and provides continuity in the establishment and implementation of goals between terms of the Presidents, and recognizes and supports the accomplishments between terms of Presidents. It also acts as a consultant to the current Alumni Association President and participates in fundraising activities of the school.

Professional Development Committee
The Alumni Association’s Professional Development Committee, through partnerships with Career Development, faculty and students, seeks to provide guidance and professional development opportunities to the CUSSW community throughout one’s academic experience and career.

Reed Scholarship Committee
Subcommittee of the Development Committee. Primary focus is to raise funds for the Muriel C. Reed Scholarship, which provides funding for international and minority students to train for social work careers by offering partial tuition grants for students in the Master of Science degree program at the Columbia University School of Social Work.

The Alumni of Color Committee was created to foster and enhance relationships for students and alumni of color at CUSSW through networking, scholarship and mentorship activities.
