General Description:
The CUNY Service Corps at New York City College of Technology is seeking a part-time administrative assistant to assist with administrative duties related to the management of the program.
The CUNY Service Corps will mobilize students at City Tech to work on community projects that improve the short and long-term civic, economic and environmental sustainability of New York City and of its residents and neighborhoods. Job Duties:

RESEARCH STAFF ASSISTANT, ACHIEVEMENT INSTITUTE: COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK
Basic Function:
Under the supervision of Dr. Jeanette Takamura (the PI) and the Executive Director of the Achievement Initiative, the Program Coordinator will work as a member of a team to provide comprehensive dropout prevention services to students at one of the partner high schools. The Program Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring a successful high school experience for students and for building a very young program at the partner high school. Primary responsibilities include maintenance of a caseload of students and provision of appropriate service interventions, including individual and group counseling; facilitation of an Advisory curriculum; development and implementation of college, workforce and life skill workshops; development and supervision of a college tutoring program; provision of supervision and field instruction to graduate social work students; and maintenance of program records and data collection.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
The Program Coordinator will play a critical role in providing high quality program services and will be required to carry out the following duties and responsibilities:
- Research best practice, develop and facilitate student-focused programming to promote personal and academic achievement under the direction of the immediate supervisor (the Executive Director). Duties include implementation and facilitation of curricula in weekly student Advisory workshops; facilitation of student workshops on topics of life skills, academic achievement, college preparation and workforce development; provision of individual and small group counseling; and development and supervision of a college student tutoring program. (45%)
- Under the supervision of the Executive Director, provide supervision and field instruction to graduate social work student interns and task supervision to college student tutors. Additional duties include development of internal and external relationships with area resources; facilitation of regular program team meetings; and collaboration with high school staff. (30%)
- Perform administrative duties essential to program maintenance under the supervision of the Executive Director to include: data collection; maintenance of student case files and program attendance records; assist in writing program summary reports for contract requirements; and assist in student recruitment efforts. (15%)
- Assist in provision of family educational workshops; recruitment of family participants; provision of occasional home visits to families; and provision of appropriate and necessary referrals to families. (5%)

Supervision Received:
The Research Staff Assistant receives direct supervision from the Executive Director of the Achievement Initiative. However, the position requires a very high degree of independent judgment.

Minimum Qualifications:

CHHA SOCIAL WORK SUPERVISOR: EXTENDED HOME CARE (EHC)
Position Summary:
The Social Work Supervisor is responsible for administrative oversight and clinical management of the social workers, while ensuring quality deliverance of social work
Responsibilites:
- Review and signs all social work notes for clinical accuracy, timeliness, and ensure they meet agency standards;
- Ensure that SW staff is receiving clinical direction, and all problems, issues, concerns, questions and case direction are addressed;
- Provide supervision and oversight both in the office and in the field to SW staff to ensure staff accountability;
- Perform annual social work staff evaluations in the field (or more often as needed);
- Review evaluations with staff and offer recommendations for improving performance;
- Conduct home visits as needed;
- Provide psycho educational training to the home healthcare team on the significance of social and emotional factors impacting patients’ care;
- Identify opportunities to improve the program's efficiency;

SOCIAL WORKER, ROSALIE HALL MATERNITY SERVICES: CATHOLIC GUARDIAN SERVICES
Major Functions and Responsibilities:
The general social work staff of the Rosalie Hall Maternity Services Department is charged with the responsibility of addressing the needs of parent(s) and/or their families, including significant others, who are faced with an unintended pregnancy;
to assist them in facing the pregnancy, bringing the pregnancy to term, and helping the parent develop a parenting plan for their unborn child. All staff are required to provide parenting education through the three main programs including Pre-natal classes, Parenting Journey and Me, My Baby, Our World. Client assessments, data entry\ and referral development are important aspects of the program. The social worker is also involved with adoptive parents in the adoption and home study process and the supervision of children placed for adoption until finalization.
Basic Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Shares in the following duties: answering the Hotline, covering the Hotline (via cell phone and answering machine) evenings/week-ends/holidays; telephone and walk-in inquiries; making out the appropriate entry and/or intake sheet/case record.
2. Provides Services in Rosalie Hall Maternity Services Cases:
- Provides casework services to expectant mothers and/or their families, including significant others; determines the need for financial assistance, shelter, medical or other services; helps in planning for the unborn child; assesses concrete needs.
- With a co-leader, conducts a series of 7 parenting classes for pregnant clients or parent(s) of newborn infants; classes are offered twice monthly during the day and twice on Saturdays alternating English and Spanish classes for the weekends.
- Develops resources from which to recruit participants in quarterly Parenting Journey and Me, My Baby, Our World classes and co-leads such classes;
- Conducts intake interviews for all participants referred to PJ and MMBOW classes and determines client motivation for participation;
- Conducts an Intake and initial assessment of all clients and develops a service plan with the client;
- Conducts client pre assessments, enters data onto appropriate data base, conducts post assessments at case closing and enters data onto correct data base; 96.37/Job Description/Social Worker
- Encourages pre-natal clients to participate in our Incentive program
- Provides referrals to our VNS for pregnant clients who have been identified as needing additional medical services and Collaborates with the visiting nurse to provide social work services to those clients in need of our VSN services;

- Conducts home visits to clients and family members as per case need
- Maintains a record of all client contacts and services provided;
- Provides support services to the clients in the Rosalie Hall Group home including Parenting Choice counseling and aftercare services;
- Provides reports to the Group home therapist and administrative supervisor on above contacts;
- Maintains a monthly statistic sheet for all clients served;
3. Provides Birth Parent Services to Expectant Clients Seeking Parenting Options:
- Regardless of the stated parenting choice of the expectant parent(s), they are to be helped through the discernment process of parenting the baby or making an adoption plan for the baby by using the outline of options counseling and decision-making; indicate in case recording the results of this assessment process.
- When the adoption option is selected, providing on-going counseling to the expectant parent(s), including legal counseling, preparing for loss, assisting the client in determining what type of adoption is preferred (confidential, semi-open, open)
- Help the expectant parent(s) select the appropriate adoptive parents for the baby from the profiles; prepares birth parent(s) for the surrender process or assists those birth parents who parent the babies to make a viable plan.
- Responsible for arranging for transportation of newborns from the hospital to the agency for placement
- Maintain case records with up-to-date recording with particular emphasis on the surrender process and discharge planning
4. Conducts domestic and international home studies according to agency/State/ Federal and intercountry policies/practices and procedures, answers inquiries from the adopting couples during their waiting period, and supervises assigned homes following a child’s placement until finalization.
5. For International adoptions-provide the PAP with education regarding the risks involved in international adoption (country specific), the medical issues facing children from specific countries, possible undiagnosed medical/physical/emotional/education problems, the effect of multiple placements, the impact of orphanage/institutional placement, transracial/transcultural issues, issues of loss and abandonment, bonding and attachment and the process of establishing a permanent home for a child through adoption. The worker will provide 96.37/Job Description/Social Worker information on USCIS rules and regulations and appropriate state laws. Post placement and post finalization visits and reports will be conducted as percountry specific/agency specific requirements.
6. In keeping with Hague requirements, staff will complete 30 hours of training every two years in relation to Continuing Education/Training Curriculum:

PART TIME PROGRAM FACILITATOR: LEAVE OUT VIOLENCE (LOVE)
Leave Out Violence-U.S. (LOVE), is a non-profit 501(c)3 agency located in Manhattan, NY, with the mission to reduce violence in the lives of youth and our communities by building a team of youth leaders who communicate a message of non-violence. LOVE-U.S. youth develop the skills to express their emotions and become spokespeople against violence as they learn and use photography, film making, visual art, poetry, and journalism to raise their voices and visions against violence.
The Part-time Program Facilitator will assist in the development and implementation of program content primarily for the school-based programs of LOVE-U.S. These programs include 5-Week Outreaches and After-School Media Arts After Programs (12-25 weeks). Candidates will need to be available 9 to 15 hours/week (from October-May), Mondays through Thursdays, during school hours and after-school hours. The Part-Time Program Facilitator will be supervised by and report directly to the Program Director and Program Coordinator.
There is a strong possibility the candidate will facilitate gender-based programming for boys. LOVE- U.S. staff, youth alumni and youth leaders help students examine the causes and consequences of violence, with a focus on masculinity, and explore violence prevention strategies through photography, film-making, poetry, journaling and rich discussions.
Specific Duties Include:
- Coordinate and plan in tandem with Program Staff (including Program Facilitators, Coordinator and Director) program curricula and events;
- Co-facilitate school-based programs that are strongly based on social group work, anti-oppression theory, and violence reduction;
- Work with LOVE youth to present, exhibit, screen or perform their work;

The Spencer Cox Center for Health of Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a multi-disciplinary team at its Chelsea clinic. The Social Worker will be responsible for providing outpatient and inpatient services.
Job Requirements:
- Previous hospital experience with HIV positive population
- MSW from a Graduate School of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
- LMSW or LCSW required
- Firm clinical understanding of the impact of illness on individuals and families
- Sound knowledge base of social work/case management responsibilities related to homelessness, substance abuse issues, mental health problems
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer literacy
- Spanish-speaking preferred
