Participates on the pager rotation as scheduled to provide on-call crisis consultation. Masters level clinician (must be listed on DORA), clinical license preferred (LCSW/LPC or LMFT), with previous intake and case management experience required. Previous inpatient or residential experience preferred. Must have strong diagnostic skills and ability to problem solve in a crisis. Strong ability to multi-task required. Common Justice is a demonstration project of the Vera Institute of Justice. The project is a restorative justice-based alternative to incarceration and victim service program for serious and/or violent felony cases such as assault, burglary, and robbery. The project brings 16 to 24-year olds responsible for crimes together with those they have harmed and their support people in a facilitated dialogue to determine appropriate sanctions to take the place of a prison sentence. The project engages and prepares all parties, convenes the dialogues, and provides supervision and support to both those harmed and those responsible for crime. It aims to meet the needs of people harmed by crime, prevent further violence, minimize the unnecessary use of incarceration, and improve people’s experience of justice. JWFNY is looking for an intern to begin February 2014 with the possibility of extending through the summer. The intern must have knowledge, interest  and experience in global affairs and/or international development and the ability to work from our office in New York City. This person would report directly to the Executive Director and work with her to build JWFNY's second cohort of Isha Koach. Isha Koach is a giving circle of Jewish women who have donated each $18,000 and pooled resources to make grants to Jewish women social entrepreneurs who founded and lead organizations serving the world's most vulnerable women and children.
