Career Services for Alumni

The Office of Career & Leadership Development is committed to providing alumni with the necessary tools to successfully manage their professional development throughout their careers. Whether you are entering a new field, advancing within your current profession, or changing directions, we will help you identify and develop the skills and resources needed to achieve your goals.

Alumni are encouraged to partner with the Office of Career & Leadership Development and dedicate time to independent research and networking to build bridges within the professional world.

CAREER MANAGEMENT RESOURCES

AlumniConnect: Connect and network with alumni from the School of Social Work and across        Columbia University. For more information go to the Alumni page. A UNI and password are required. Call the alumni office at 212-851-2375 for more information.

Alumni Job Bank: A password required online resource to access part and full time positions posted for Columbia SW alumni. Jobs are searchable by location, keyword, experience level or you can create your own Quick Search. The site also allows you to manage your professional data. To create an account go to: 

One-on-One Career Counseling: Individual counseling to assist you with self assessment & goal setting, résumé and cover letter critiques, interview preparation, networking strategies,       salary negotiation, job search tips, and licensing assistance. During the academic year we take appointments with alumni on Fridays.  To make an appointment send us an email at swcareer@columbia.edu

Career Fairs: Alumni are invited to attend the annual career fairs that we co-host. Each provides you with the opportunity to find out about job openings and network with organizations in your professional area. Check the online calendar for dates, times and locations.

Career Networking Partner: A directory of alumni who have volunteered to serve as career             mentors for current students.  If you are interested in being a networking partner or part of an alumni career panel email us at swcareer@columbia.edu

Alumni Workshops & Events:  Throughout the year, we host several workshops focused on career topics for alumni.  For information on upcoming programs go to the Events Calendar on the School of Social Work Alumni webpage.
