Community Mental Health Centers Construction Act Ammendments of 1965:

public law 89-105

This ammendment authorized the appropriation of funds to support a decreasing proportion of the cost of staff of the community mental health centers.

 

Mental Health Ammendments of 1967:

public law 90-31

These ammendments authorized funds for three more years of construction support and two more years of staffing support for new mental health centers.

 

Alcoholic and Narcotic Rehabilitation Ammendments of 1968:

public law 90-574

It authorized the appropriations of funds for the construction and initial staffing of facilities for the prevention and treatment of alcoholism and narcotic addiction.

 

Community Mental Health Centers Ammendment of 1970:

public law 91-211

This ammendment authorized the extention of funds to build and staff facilities for the treatment and prevention of alcoholism and narcotic addictions.

 

Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act of 1970:

public law 91-513

This act broadend the community mental health center narcotic addiction programs by including a larger category of persons with drug abuse and drug dependent problems.

 

Health Programs Extension Act of 1973:

public law 93-45

It authorized funds for a one year extension of a large number of federally supported health programs including community mental health centers program.

 

Community Mental Health Centers Act of 1975:

public law 94-63

This act acquired the centers to provide the five services deamed essential and added seven new services.

1. screening of patients prior to admission to state hospitals

2. follow up care for those released from mental hospitals

3. developing transitional living facilities for the mentally ill

4. providing services for children

5. providing services for the elderly

6. providing services for drug abusers

7. providing services for alcohol abusers
