Sonia Austrian has supervised Columbia University School
of Social Work (CUSSW) students in the field for thirty years
and has taught Human Behavior and
the Social Environment (HBSE) and Psychopathology.
She received a BA from Wellesley College and an MS and DSW
from CUSSW.
Dr. Austrian is currently the director of the Employee Assistance
Program Consortium and an Associate Professor at Weill Medical
College. She has had a long career in Health/Mental Health
and has been on the faculties of CUSSW and SUNY Stoney Brook.
She is the author of several articles and two books, Mental
Disorders: Medications and Clinical Social Work and Developmental
Theories Through the Life Cycle.
