Raye Barbieri
Adjunct Lecturer
Ms. Barbieri teaches Advocacy in Social Work Practice at CUSSW. She has
also served as a CUSSW field instructor and educational coordinator. She
earned a B.S.W. from Wheelock College in Boston in 1987 and an M.S.W.
from Columbia University in 1988.
Ms. Barbieri is currently the Project Director of the Harlem Community
Justice Center run by the Center for Court Innovation, a community court
in East Harlem focusing on housing, youth crime, and offender reentry.
Ms. Barbieri joined the Center in 1995 and has held numerous positions
at various problem-solving court projects including the Midtown
Community Court, the Brooklyn Treatment Court and the Manhattan Family
Treatment Court. Prior to joining the Center, Ms. Barbieri served as a
forensic social worker with Legal Aid Society's Parole Revocation
Defense Unit.
